Directions to the Convention Center
 

General Directions from the East:

Take I-10 West to Exit 234C (West Bank/Highway 90). Continue on Highway 90 (the Riverfront Expressway) and exit right at Tchoupitoulas/South Peters Street. This is the last exit before crossing the bridge! On ground level, stay in the left lane and go to the fourth stop, which is Convention Center Boulevard. You will see the Convention Center Expansion in front of you. Turn left on Convention Center Boulevard. The Convention Center is on your right, at 900 Convention Center Boulevard.

General Directions from the West:

Take I-10 East to the West Bank/Highway 90 exit (do not continue on I-10 to Slidell). Stay in the right lane and exit right at Tchoupitoulas/South Peters Street. This is the last exit before crossing the bridge! On ground level, stay in the left lane and go to the fourth stop, which is Convention Center Boulevard. You will see the Convention Center Expansion in front of you. Turn left on Convention Center Boulevard. The Convention Center is on your right, at 900 Convention Center Boulevard.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEAMS

 

GOOD NEWS!!  WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SECURE SOME COMPLIMENTARY PARKING FOR THE UPCOMING BAYOU REGIONAL EVENT.  EACH TEAM WILL BE ALLOWED ONE COMPLIMENTARY PARKING SPOT IN LOT A LARGE ENOUGH FOR A CAR, SUV OR SIMILAR SIZED VEHICLE.  LOT A WILL BE CLEARLY MARKED AND IS LOCATED ON CONVENTION CENTER BOULEVARD ACROSS THE STREET FROM HALL E JUST A FEW YARDS CLOSER TO THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. 

 

AN ADDITIONAL LOT, WHICH WILL ALSO BE CLEARLY MARKED, JUST A FEW MORE YARDS PAST LOT A IS AVAILABLE FOR PARKING BUSES, TRUCKS AND ADDITIONAL TEAM CARS AT A DAILY PRICE OF $10.00 PER VEHICLE.

 

IN ORDER TO ENTER LOT A, SIMPLY PRINT THE PAGE EMAILED TO YOU WHICH WILL SERVE AS YOUR PARKING PASS.   ENTER YOUR TEAM NUMBER IN DARK RED AND DISPLAY IT ON THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD OF THE VEHICLE.  PLEASE BE SURE YOUR TEAM NUMBER IS VISIBLE THROUGH THE WINDOW.  

 

IN THE SPIRIT OF GRACIOUS PROFESSIONALISM, WE TRUST YOU WILL ONLY PRINT ONE PASS PER TEAM.  SHOULD WE FIND MORE THAN ONE VEHICLE WITH THE SAME TEAM NUMBER PARKED IN LOT A, WE WILL ASK ALL VEHICLES FROM THAT TEAM TO LEAVE THE LOT AND THEY WILL LOSE THEIR LOT A PARKING PRIVILEGES FOR THE DURATION OF THE COMPETITION.

The Convention Center has no parking of its own. Park only in legal spaces (more than 20 feet from any curb) on surrounding city streets, or you may be ticketed and towed! Call for parking information and rates at these sites: 1. Fulton Street Garage, 901 Convention Center Boulevard, (504) 566-1010. 2. Riverwalk, 800 Convention Center Boulevard, (504) 584-3994.



Site Restrictions
 

Please read the following restrictions and adhere to them in order to promote an orderly, safe, pleasant, and exciting competition. As a group, we all should honor agreements with the venue and help promote the spirit of good partnership. Please:

1.  Do not bring food on the site. If you bring food, do not bring it onto the property.

2.  Do not use noisy devices, such as whistles or air horns.

3.  Do not save seats. It is not fair to other teams or to the public guests we hope to interest as team sponsors or volunteers.

4.  Do not ship robots directly to the site. All shipments go through the Drayage Company. 

5.  Do not arrange for Internet access on the site or bring free phone lines for same.

6.  Do not sell any products. This includes food, hats, shirts, or any promotional products.

7.  Do not give out any free food products, such as candy, water, soft drinks, or fruit. You may trade team pins, however. 

8.  Do not use helium tanks.

9. Do not bring live bands to play in the audience. This dilutes the presentation on the playing field and is too loud and confusing for the audience.

10. Do not play loud music in the Pit because it interferes with important announcements. If a team receives more than a warning or two, the power to the team’s Pit Station will be shut off and/or the music confiscated. 

11.  Do not run in the venue. 

12.  Open-toed shoes are not allowed.
